It was through Mark’s vision that World Fiber Technologies, LLC. began and grew into the nationally recognized provider of innovative solutions for the fiber optic and wireless telecommunications industries, renewable energy industries and DOT Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) contractor specializing in signalization, tolling and smart highways. His 30 years’ experience in leadership, business development, strategic planning, and complex negotiation along with his strong work ethic and dedication are at the core of World Fiber’s solid construction and engineering reputation.
Mark invests in creative, accountable talent who possess strategic specialties in “old” heavy industrial and “new” technology-driven economies. He then integrates talent with like investments in capital equipment and technology. The result is a self-sufficient, nimble and highly leveraged force producing quality construction, on time, at competitive prices.
Gordon Myers has a background as a Bank Executive and Senior Executive with Ingles Markets, Inc. He started two Independent Banks in Asheville, North Carolina; First Commercial Bank in 1980 which was sold to Centura Bank, and Forest Commercial Bank in 2008. Gordon served as President of First Commercial Bank and currently serves on the Board and Loan Committee of Forest Commercial Bank.
As Vice President of Real Estate for Ingles Markets, Inc. from 1983-2007, Gordon was responsible for site locations and Construction of new stores as Ingles self-developed many of their own store locations. Additionally, he handled all leasing for Ingles numerous tenants and was responsible for Ingles CAP Ex. Budget for remodels and renovations. Gordon serves as a Consultant to several Corporations, including Ingles Markets, The Biltmore Estate, Fontana Dam, NC, Delphi Development Company and Tenneco Construction Company. His extensive background in Public Service in North Carolina includes serving 9 years on the North Carolina Board of Transportation, Chairman of the North Carolina Chamber of Commerce and Chairman for the North Carolina Economic Development Board in 2002.
Gordon is currently Chairman of the Cherokee Certification Gaming Commission and resides in Asheville, North Carolina.
Jay Sinder is a telecommunications industry veteran with executive and financial experience at both public and private companies. Since August 2017, he has served as Chief Financial Officer of ForeSee Results, a software company focused on voice of customer analytics. Since September 2013, Jay has served as a member of the Board of Directors of Contec, LTD, a cable set-top box repair company based in New York, and since December 2015, as a member of the Board of Directors and the Audit and Compensation Committees of Impact Telecom, Inc. , a national telecommunications company. Between 2014 and 2015, Jay served on the Board of Directors of TNCI Operating Company, LLC, a national telecommunications company based in California, which merged with Impact Telecom in December 2015. From 2012 to 2013, he served as Chief Executive Officer of CoreLink Data Centers LLC. Prior to his promotion to Chief Executive Officer, Jay was Chief Financial Officer of CoreLink from 2010 to 2012. Jay also served as Chief Financial Officer at Hostway Corporation from 2009 to 2010 and at Hu-Friedy Mfg. Co., Inc. from 2005 to 2008. From 1998 to 2004, he served at Focal Communications Corporation in a variety of executive and financial positions, including Chief Financial Officer, Treasurer, and Vice President of Corporate Development. Prior to joining Focal, Jay held finance positions at Ameritech, MCI Communications, Telephone and Data Systems, and IBM. Jay holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Michigan and a MBA from the University of Chicago.
Michael Gershenzon has been with Sterling Partners since 2014 where he serves as Vice President on the investment team. He is a CFA charter holder and has previously worked for Royal Bank of Scotland in their TMT & Gaming investment banking group. Michael attended Miami University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Finance with honors.
Mike Drai has been with Sterling Partners since 2008 and is a Managing Director on the Investment team. He is co-head of Business Services Group and a member of Sterling Partner’s Investment Committee. Prior to working for Sterling, Mike worked at GTCR, Allen & Company and Citigroup. He received a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of Illinois and his MBA from Kellogg School of Management.
Jeff joined Yates Insurance Agency in 2006. Prior to joining Yates Insurance Agency, he served as a Senior Vice President (Shareholder) at Synaxis-Merritt & McKenzie for nine years. During Jeff’s time at Synaxis-Merritt & McKenzie, he produced and managed a book of Commercial Property & Casualty Insurance and Contract Surety Bonding business with annual commission revenues in excess of $1.00MM. The book of business was comprised of clients from the following industries: Construction, Real Estate Development, Commercial Properties and Hospitality.
